a delightful twist on the classic mince pie... crumbly, spiced to perfection, and irresistibly delicious!

to make the mincemeat 

ingredients 
  • 160g finely chopped apple 
  • 300g mixed fruit and peel 
  • 100g Sweet Freedom CINNAMON SYRUP 
  • 2 tsp Sweet Freedom Barista Pumpkin Spice Syrup 
make 
  1. Put all of the ingredients (you can add more spices or alcohol if you fancy!) in a saucepan on a medium heat for 10 mins, then lower and simmer.  
  1. Put the mix into the jar and leave it for a few days before using to let the syrup soak into the fruit. 
 

to make the crumble 

ingredients 
  • 120g oats 
  • 3 tbsp Sweet Freedom LIGHT SYRUP 
  • 1 tbsp plain flour 
  • 1/2 tbsp plant based butter 
make 
  1. In a bowl mix together the oats (we blitzed them, but you can leave whole), LIGHT SYRUP, flour and butter.  
  1. Mix until a crumble is formed. 

to make the bars 

ingredients 
  • 120g of crumble mix
  • 250g of mincemeat
make 
  1. Lightly grease a mould of your choice (we used a silicon brownie mould). 
  1. Add a heaped TBSP of crumble to the bottom of the mould and press down firmly. 
  1. Add a heaped TBSP of the mincemeat on top of the crumble base and smooth to cover the base. 
  1. Add a heaped TBSP of crumble on top of the mincemeat. 
  1. We used the air fryer to bake our crumble for 20 mins at 160c or you can put into an oven for 25-30 mins until golden on top. 
  1. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before carefully removing.
