a delightful twist on the classic mince pie... crumbly, spiced to perfection, and irresistibly delicious!
to make the mincemeat
ingredients
- 160g finely chopped apple
- 300g mixed fruit and peel
- 100g Sweet Freedom CINNAMON SYRUP
- 2 tsp Sweet Freedom Barista Pumpkin Spice Syrup
make
- Put all of the ingredients (you can add more spices or alcohol if you fancy!) in a saucepan on a medium heat for 10 mins, then lower and simmer.
- Put the mix into the jar and leave it for a few days before using to let the syrup soak into the fruit.
to make the crumble
ingredients
- 120g oats
- 3 tbsp Sweet Freedom LIGHT SYRUP
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 1/2 tbsp plant based butter
make
- In a bowl mix together the oats (we blitzed them, but you can leave whole), LIGHT SYRUP, flour and butter.
- Mix until a crumble is formed.
to make the bars
ingredients
- 120g of crumble mix
- 250g of mincemeat
make
- Lightly grease a mould of your choice (we used a silicon brownie mould).
- Add a heaped TBSP of crumble to the bottom of the mould and press down firmly.
- Add a heaped TBSP of the mincemeat on top of the crumble base and smooth to cover the base.
- Add a heaped TBSP of crumble on top of the mincemeat.
- We used the air fryer to bake our crumble for 20 mins at 160c or you can put into an oven for 25-30 mins until golden on top.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before carefully removing.
