Fighting to save critically endangered orangutans...
The clearing of jungles for palm oil plantations is devastating for these gentle creatures. We have taken a stand and DO NOT use palm oil in any Sweet Freedom products.
Our first orangutans adoptees, Sam & Cupcake are now thriving in the wild... to try and help as many orangutans as we can to achieve the same dream, we now donate 10% of profits on our CHOC POT chocolate spread to The Orangutan Project.

The delightful Evie Toombes met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before receiving the Inspirational Young Person award at the WellChild ceremony. Appearing on ITV news with Alistair Stewart, Evie said the Duke and Duchess had taken an interest in the children's book she has written about disability. She also added 'It was also wonderful because we got to meet them and they had so much time for everyone. They spoke to every single one of the award winners, so it was fantastic to do that.'
Evie was born with spina bifida and more recently has developed gastroparesis, yet despite these challenges rather than any trace of self-pity she competes as a National Para rider (show jumping). Evie's health is currently impossible to safely manage away from home due to all the daily procedures required hence the idea to raise funds to purchase a specially adapted medical facility/horsebox. We have been touched by Evie’s bravery and positive attitude and donated £1k towards this which will enable her to cope with her paralysed stomach, bladder/bowel & lower leg issues wherever she travels. Well done Evie!
Here at Sweet Freedom we love Macmillan and their amazing cancer support work. We try to help by donating our Fruit Syrup, Choc Shot and Choc Pot for their annual fundraiser The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which is Macmillian’s largest fundraising event and earns millions each year. Last year they earned an impressive £26 million which goes towards helping Macmillian continue to provide life changing support to people living with or affected by cancer.
The Magical Taxi Tour is a wonderful charity whose mission is to give sick children a three-day break from therapy and treatment in Disneyland Resort Paris. The kids are transported in a convoy of London taxis and the families would not be able to undertake such a trip alone, without the medical support the London Ambulance Service (plus many others). We were thrilled to be a sponsor, and Co-founder Deborah's husband was the volunteer driver (great job Gary!)
We were delighted to support Great Ormond Street Charity’s triathlon event on Saturday 4 August by providing our Sweet Freedom Choc Shake Caramel and Choc Shake Banana. £60,000 was raised in which over 150 triathletes took part in the day’s event. GOSH teamed up with AJ Bell and Gordon & Tara Ramsay for this campaign.
We’ve been supplying some Choc Shot for Appledown’s fundraising efforts. They re-home stray dogs from all around the Bedfordshire area. Appledown provides the dogs with food, shelter, medical help, care and love until the right new owner can be found. They always have 40-50 dogs in their care, and with dog abandonment, neglect and sadly abuse on the rise, everyday costs but especially vet costs are several thousand pounds each month.
Why not welcome a dog into your life! Dogs Trust have many dogs that stay with them longer term as they need extra special care and attention.
When you sponsor a dog you'll receive a special photo certificate of your new pal, a wallet-sized sponsor's card, a window sticker and a fridge magnet with three updates a year from your friend, so you can hear how you're making your doggy friend's life great.
You can also sponsor a dog for someone else too... a great gift for any dog-loving friend!
We were very proud to support the NSPCC’s Great British Chefs Dinner event on 5thDecember by providing our Sweet Freedom Choc Pots. With the £210,000 raised on the night the NSPCC will be able to reach over 70,000 primary school children with their Speak Out. Stay Safe. programme giving them the knowledge needed to protect themselves from all forms of abuse. By making children aware of what abuse and neglect are, and what the signs might be, this important campaign can help to protect a generation of children.
We were thrilled to support Breast Cancer Care with their Pink Ribbon Walk by providing Choc Shot at the finish line. Breast Cancer Care combines the personal experiences of people affected by breast cancer with clinical expertise to provide information on living with, and beyond breast cancer, offering both emotional and practical support and a Helpline to bring people affected by breast cancer together.

Last year Pink Week raised an amazing £24,000 and this year the organisers hope to raise even more! We donated over 6000 of our delish bottles of Choc Shot to help Olivia (herself a student and 22 year old cancer survivor) with her brilliant and inspiring fundraising efforts.

They offer help with lifelong practical and emotional support for Armed Forces and National Service veterans helping them recover their independence and have a good quality of life beyond sight loss. The 100k challenge is an annual walk from London to Brighton! Congratulations to all the amazing finishers, we hope you enjoyed your Choc Shot!
